Post 002 - Journey to New Eden

Hi again.

During the downtime on 23rd which was longer than we all have expected I finnaly decided how I will spend my time in Eve. I will do some mining for living and mostly I will be flying around and taking shots. I started thinking about speceship which is suitable for this job. I wanted something small, fast and cheap. Since I am Gallente the choice is pretty obivious. I choose Atron. The ship looks let's say strange. I fitted it only with warp core stabilizer for false sense of safety in low sec.

So i have ship now I have to pick some interesting destination. I picked location which is must see for all of the Eve players. The famous Eve gate in system New Eden. So I set my destination and undock from station in Solar system Dodixie. Autopilt showed 21jumps to go.

First 13 jumps were throught high sec so I was safe. Than came gate from Amarr Empire to low sec. I crossed my fingers and jumped. The other side of gate was clear so I warped to another one. And again and again. Some corpmate told me that I have about 20% chance of surviving this trip in low sec.

Than I jumped into Eve constellation. Only few jumps to go. The solar systems in this Constellation have pretty good names I think. So I was in solar system named Exit then Gateway, Central Point, Prommised Land and finally New Eden. New Eden is strange solar system. In fact it isn't system at all. It is only gate in middle of nowher. I knew before that Eve gate is only texture in background and not object in space. Still I was little disapointed. The thing so important and CCP makes only background image. I stayed here for a while and then I set my destination back to my base in Audaerne system in Sinq Laison Region.

On my way back I have encountred some NPC pirates but i was lucky becouse they were pretty far away from the gate. So I was one of the 20% people in low sec who didn't get podded.

I took pictures also on my journey there and back so here they are. They are taken in resolution of 1440x990 with color depth of 24bit with 8bit alpha. I hope you will enjoy them.

This picture has funny story behind itself. As I was closing to the gate in warp speed, the wreck looked like some kind of huge ship. I was only about 4 jumps from New Eden. I thought I was dead then I realized that this is not a ship but some wreck.


This picture itself isn't so good but has something interesting at it. First when I flew by this station on my way to New Eden I didn't recognize anything. On my way back I realized that this station is just next to gate which isn't so common. When I click on this station for more info I was surprised. Info says "destroyed station" and in target menu there were no icon for docking. This maybe normal phenomenon in Eve but I saw this for the first time.

I didn't like red color so much, but you have to admit that this is nice play of light.



Finally two pictures of Eve gate. When I was there I wanted to leave something here becouse I saw some container floating in space with this info: Orion Paraguru was here 6/2010. However I had my cargo empty so there was nothing to leave behind me.

Idea of this blog

Hello,

So what this blog will be about. I started playing about 10 days ago. I am
on trial account now but i plan to get paid account. So what this will be
about?

Creation of charecter was pretty simple. Name I choose from latin. Creper is something like "unknown" and Effrenus means "unbound". I was decided that I wanted to be Gallente becouse I am free minded (some say absent minded). I choose Gallente bloodline with Immigrants ancestry. Here is how I look like.

When I started in my rookie ship I was pretty sure what i want to be ... a miner. I will mine ore from asteroids and get huge amount of money. Plan was simple get into Navitas as soon as possible and start making money. I got into mining frigate on my first day and started my career. 3 days later I had huge amount of money. One mil ISK to be sure. So I was just enjoying my cup of Quafe in Balle system thinking what i would do with my money, when same guy named Minner sit to me and asked me if I want to join his corp Gamblers Inc. During the initial conversation someone named Fer Cuperi joined us. He was also member of that corp. We exchanged few words and then I become a full member of Gamblers Inc.

I kept playing and mining for some time. I discoverd that my corp has ore buyback program which was pretty good for me so I started mining Plagiclase in Audaerne and selling it to my corp. After few days I realize that mining isn't really that funny job as I have expected. You fly to
belt, lock the asteroid, start mining, wait, wait, watch FRIENDS/read a book, wait. Than your cargo is full you turn your ship around, dock with station, unload your cargo and repeat the cycle until your mind goes off.Yesterday I was part of mining operation in Fluekelke. I thought it will
be more fun than normal mining. I learned some things. If you want to mine get a mining barge, mining in frigate is really slow. Second thing is that after 3 hours long mining op there comes at least 4 hours long hauling the ore into your base station. And the last thing it was not fun at all, but i managed to watch at least half of season of friends.

So today is 23rd of June and during this longer downtime I am writing this blog and thinking about my future career in Eve. There are two main ideas.

• I will become miner and stay in corp and have long boring life in some asteroid belt in high sec.
• Second thing that come into my mind was to become Eve photographer. Taking shots of interesting events and places in this universe. That also goes with necessity of visiting low sec.
  

I think I will choose something between....
